Day two | |
Morning | Rise and shine for the morning’s early the “Sunrise coffee”. Head out to see the sea towards the bay lit in a golden hue by the first light of the day. Sip some morning coffee while you take in the atmosphere and enjoy a breakfast of curry rice and coconut pudding on the boat. |
Explore the mangrove forest, a spot where pink dolphins come to feed. Participate in the mangrove forest conservation mission by releasing some small fish into the ocean. | |
Late Morning | The boat will park right over a spot where the sea mud quality is the best to experience a “mud spa”, which will help nourish your face and body with silky smooth sea mud. The golden bay is where the area’s network of canals converge with the sea meet; here is where the minerals and nutrients settle after being carried downstream from the mountains – hence why the sea mud is packed full of nutrients.
|
Noon | Have lunch at the famous Kanom Jeen Maeyai. Enjoy fresh rice noodles and blue crab curry. |
Afternoon | Pay homage to the pagoda home to the Buddha’s relics at Wat Pra Mahathat Woramahawihan, a sacred historical site highly respected by the locals. A cool fact about this place is that its shadow is never cast on the ground, hence the name “shadowless pagoda”. For this reason, it has been designated as an “Unseen Thailand” attraction and the symbol of Nakorn Sri Thammarat. Shop for some souvenirs at the local product center in front of the temple, with plenty of food, silverware, niello ware, and traditional crafts unique to the province on offer. |
